Community ecology

My community ecology research spans hosts and parasites. I am interested in how host communities form (e.g., amphibians, snails, mammals) and how nested parasites communities form within host communities. Most research largely ignores genetic diversity in the formation of communities. My research incorporates evolutionary processes within ecological research. For example, population genetics and metacommunity ecology have many complementary concepts that my lab works to intertwine.
